Jasper comes in many combinations of colours and patterns but red or Poppy Jasper is known for its bright reddish-brown colour. This is an intensely protective stone that offers a slow, steady energy to its wearer, and is therefore said to be an especially good aid to recuperation.

A grounding stone, Poppy Jasper is said to inspire creativity and a positive, joyful attitude, which aids assertiveness and encourages personal independence. Legend has it that jasper could protect its wearer from snake and spider bites, and Native Americans traditionally used the stone in rain-making ceremonies.
