Jasper comes in many combinations of colours and patterns but Dalmatian Jasper is known for its even, black spots against a creamy matrix - hence the name. This is an intensely protective stone that offers a slow, steady energy to its wearer, and is therefore said to be an especially good aid to recuperation.

A grounding stone, Dalmatian Jasper is said to allow its wearer to see themselves more truly. It also increases patience and offers protection from nightmares (though only if worn overnight). Legend has it that jasper could protect its wearer from snake and spider bites, and Native Americans traditionally used the stone in rain-making ceremonies.
