Onyx

A form of black chalcedony, Onyx is said to help its wearer to become 'master of one's own fate', enhancing steadfastness and determination, while protecting its wearer from the negativity of others.

Ancient Egyptians believed that Onyx could protect against and sever emotional entanglements, and the stone is still said to be of great use in absorbing excess of emotion. In addition, Onyx assists its wearer in changing old patterns of behaviour . These properties make Onyx an excellent choice for those who are experiencing difficulty in letting go of old habits or past attachments.

Cloisonné

Cloisonné is a sophisticated form of enamel-work that was originally developed in the Mediterranean during the 13th century B.C. (or earlier). Medieval China, however, is most noted for refining the technique, which combines elements of both bronze-working and porcelain-making.

The artist first creates the metal model of the object, then overlays a design using extremely fine gold or copper filigree wire. After firming the design to the base in a kiln, the powdered enamel glazes are carefully added to the design cavities. Multiple layers of glaze may be added and fused at 850 °C before the surface of the object is completely smooth.
