MoonstoneMoonstones come in a variety of colours from silver-white to dark brown, though the most valuable are translucent white with a a blue sheen. Considered a sacred stone in India, Moonstone is believed to grant wishes, and is said to be a particularly powerful gift between lovers, both in arousing tender passions and in opening the heart to receive love. Many believe that its effects are linked to the lunar cycle and the stone is therefore at its most powerful at either a full or new moon. In ancient times it was believed that Moonstone could be used to reconcile lovers after a bitter quarrel: each would hold a Moonstone over their heart and think of their love. On exchanging the gemstones, the love would be released and the conflict would cease. Pink TourmalineTourmaline comes in a wide variety of colours, including green, pink and black. When warmed, Tourmaline becomes electrically charged: a property known as pyroelectricity. In general, all colours of this stone are said to help the wearer break free of limited thinking and see the past in a new light. Pink Tourmaline, like other pink stones, is associated with love and emotion, but also encourages the release of old hurts, reminding its wearer to be gentle with themselves as well as with others. Some sources also claim that Tourmaline can be rubbed for luck; as you warm the stone, its electrical charge intensifies, drawing more luck toward its wearer. | |
