Ruby

Ruby is the name given to red corundum – all other colours, including pink and violet, are considered Sapphires. The birthstone for the month of July, Ruby is currently the most valuable stone on the market; large, vivid, clear rubies are extremely rare, and even surpass similarly sized diamonds at auction.

Known as the 'king of the gemstones', the energy of the Ruby is as intense and vivid as its colour, and is said to invoke passion, love and a heightened joie de vivre in its wearer.

True rubies all have some imperfections, known as the 'silk' of the ruby, which, like fingerprints, can be used to uniquely identify a stone. These imperfections remind the wearer that true joy does not require perfection to exist.
