Unakite, Freshwater Pearl and Picture Jasper necklace

£35.00

This unique necklace is made with 22k gold vermeil.

Included with this necklace is a presentation bag and a card describing its gemstones.

Unakite

Characterised by the startling contrast of pistachio green and coral pink, Unakite is a composition of three distinct minerals: feldspar, epidote and quartz. Each composite part is said to contribute its own aspect to the overall impact of Unakite.

Feldspar enhances self-awareness, Epidote heightens perception, and Quartz has a general energising effect. In Unakite, these three work together to help release any long repressed feelings and deepen the understanding of root causes of emotions and behaviours. Unakite is also said, for similar reasons, to be useful in uncovering deception.

Freshwater Pearl

When a single, rough grain of sand irritates an oyster, it is gradually transformed into a beautiful pearl. So too this gem reminds its wearer to transform the irritations of life, to seek serenity and to walk with dignity.

Long ago it was believed that pearls were moonbeams which fell into the ocean and were swallowed by oysters. In the East, pearls symbolise prosperity and long life, while in the West, they are said to represent innocence and a pure heart, instilling a sense of calm self-acceptance, while stimulating feminine integrity.

Picture Jasper

Jasper comes in many combinations of colours and patterns; Picture Jasper is so-called because the intricate patterns on these stones look like tiny landscapes. This is an intensely protective stone that offers a slow, steady energy, and is therefore said to be an especially good aid to recuperation.

A grounding stone, Picture Jasper is also said to aid in visualisation, helping its wearer to better understand the 'big picture'. Legend has it that jasper could protect its wearer from snake and spider bites, and Native Americans traditionally used the stone in rain-making ceremonies.
